Duties:
This post is part of MOBILO research project, funded by Research Promotion Foundation of Cyprus. The candidate will be coding using open source computer vision libraries, for the vision part of the mobile mapping system under development. The mobile system itself is being developed from a private company for commercial purposes. The candidate will be working full time in the facilities of the Photogrammetric Vision Lab of Cyprus University of Technology, along fellow researchers from Cyprus, Greece and France.
Candidates must possess essential personal qualifications including integrity, initiative, dependability, good judgment and the ability to work cooperatively with others
This post is a unique opportunity for self-motivated engineers, that will allow them to develop themselves, while at the same time open further opportunities for them either for extended research within the lab (among other projects, the lab is coordinating iMARECULTURE, a H2020 Research and Innovation project) or shift to industry in support of the mobile mapping system under development. Candidates with research interests, following the successful completion of the tenure, may apply for PhD, while PhD holders may find teaching openings within the university if there is need and availability.
Basic qualifications:
Candidates must have skills and experience in (preferably) .NET coding and excellent knowledge of english. 
Additional qualifications:
The best possible candidate should also have experience on use of machine vision cameras, knowledge/experience on computer vision Simultaneous Localization And Mapping (SLAM), and additional programming languages such as C++, Python, etc.
PhD in relevant field would be considered as additional qualification along with scientific publications and participation in previous research projects.
Who May Apply
Candidates should hold a BSc and/or MSc in computer science or engineering (electrical, mechanical or surveying), or computer vision and have programming skills.
